THURSDAY, AUG. 10, 7 P.M.

"JANE LLOYD" (6 mins.) Dir. Happy. Cast: Hannah Fraser From U.S. & U.K. A musically driven short telling the title character's life story with shots centered around all the ways her name is ever depicted, from cradle to grave.

"END OF A DOG" (18 mins.) Dir. John Morgan. Cast: Jon Cryer, Clay Wilcox, Robert Fieldsteel. When his not-so-beloved dog dies, Kenneth, a misanthropic loner, must wander the city in search of the perfect burial site.

"THIRSTY" (10 mins.) Dir. Bo Mehrad, Cast: Bridget Barkan, Jonathan Sale. A young man, Josh, is struggling to detach from the legacy of his overbearing deceased mother. When yet another potential girlfriend discovers, to her dismay, Josh's secret, it becomes apparent a life change is in order.

"THE RUN" (2 mins.) Dir. Shawn Costa. Cast: Ben Graney, James Dadzie. A story of mistaken identity and mistaken intentions.

"LUCKY" (20 mins.) Dir. Avie Luthra. Cast: Muthal Naidoo, Joy Mwandla. From So. Africa & U.K. In Tamil and Zulu with English subtitles. A South African AIDS orphan learns about life through an unlikely bond with a racist Indian woman who lives next door to his uncle.

"WHY THE GOWN" (12 mins.) Dir. Derek Boyle. Cast: Eric Teitel, Jamee Vance. After a young boy falls on his sharp art project, a minor accident spirals out of control when his egocentric doctor believes he is dealing with an attempted suicide.

"THE WRAITH OF COBBLE HILL" (15 mins.) Dir. Adam Parrish King. Claymation animation. When teenage Felix, from a deadbeat Brooklyn home, is asked by Mr. H, the kindly corner store owner, to mind his dog while he's away, it's up to Felix to either reciprocate the benevolence Mr. H has always shown him, or perpetuate the neglect handed down as a family legacy.

FRIDAY, AUG. 11, 7 P.M.

"THE LITTLE MATCHGIRL" (7 mins.) Dir. Roger Allers. Animated. From the Disney studios; the classic fairy tale of a child of poverty seeking hope and comfort in a cold world.

"ICE CREAM" (6 mins.) Dir. Alexandra Fisher. Cast: Carlie Callahan, Elizaberh Karr. Zyla is a 6-year-old girl who always obeys her austere mother. But there are temptations that are hard to resist.

"TRANSGRESSIONS" (14 mins.) Dir. Valerie Weiss. Cast: Holly Robertson, Robert Johnson. "A Clockwork Orange" meets "Pleasantville" in this sci-fi short set against the backdrop of a utopian society that idolizes celebrity assassins called Agents.

"K-7" (18 mins.) Dir. Christopher Leone. Cast: Cheryl Bricker, Jarrad Paul, Kai Lennox, Paul Bunch. An ordinary job interview goes from bad, to worse, to mortal combat in this comedic thriller.

"SLICE OF HEAVEN" (6 mins.) Dir. Christopher Kinsella of Newport. Cast: Tara Thomson. It takes a lot of bacon to grow the most beautiful garden on the block. But without children, all that pork fat would be for naught.

"THE TOLL" (6 mins.) Dir. Zachary Pike. Animated. A crusty old bridge troll is interviewed, with marvelous background antics by his dragon-dog.

"NOW YOU SEE ME, NOW YOU DON'T (MOST LATSZOM, MOST NEM LATSZOM)" (30 mins.) Dir. Attila Szasz. From Hungary. Cast: Dora Letay, Erno Fekete, Vitez Abraham. In Hungarian with English subtitles. A seemingly ordinary day with Dad experimenting in the lab and Mom at home boiling water, while their 6-year-old son Alex plays. But when Dad brings something home from the lab, the next morning Alex becomes invisible.

SATURDAY, AUG. 12, 7 P.M.

"TWITCH" (10 mins.) Dir. Leah Meyerhoff. Cast: Emma Galvin, Peter Corrie, Toni Meyerhoff. A young girl's conflicted relationship with her disabled mother and her irrational fear that the disability is contagious.

"EVE OF UNDERSTANDING" (93 mins.) Dir. Alyson Shelton. Cast: Bellamy Young, Daniel Magill, Rebecca Lowman A married man. An abusive father. A religious zealot. All stops on Donna's trip to carry out her mother's dying wish. But even in death Eve can't calm the storm caused by the secrets and lies she left behind.
